Privacy Policy

Insectix game. Last updated: 13 September 2026.

1. Data controller

The data controller is TawaSoftware (Philippe MAES, sole trader), publisher of the game Insectix. Full postal details are available in the legal notice. For any question about your data: contact@tawasoftware.com.

2. No account, no real identity

Insectix requires no account and never asks for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth.

To appear on the online leaderboard, you pick three letters. This is optional: the game is fully playable without ever entering them.

3. Data that stays on your device

The following is stored locally and sent to nobody:

• your settings (sound, vibration) and your personal best scores;
• whether you purchased the removal of advertising;
• your three letters and an installation identifier, held in the system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android).

The installation identifier is a number drawn at random by the game itself. It is neither your device's advertising identifier nor a hardware identifier: it cannot be used to track you across other apps.

4. Online leaderboard

If you choose to appear on the leaderboard, the following is sent to a server operated by TawaSoftware and hosted in France:

• your three letters and the number that distinguishes them (for example "TAW#2");
• your score, the wave reached, the duration of the run and a per-wave breakdown — these are used to verify that a score is actually achievable;
• your installation identifier, so your own runs can be recognised. It is never displayed nor disclosed to other players.

No IP address is retained by this server. No leaderboard data is sold, rented or shared with any third party.

5. Advertising

The free version shows adverts between some waves, served by Google AdMob. To deliver them, Google may process identifiers and usage data from your device, as described in Google's privacy policy.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent form is presented before any personalised advertising. You may decline: the game remains fully playable, with non-personalised adverts.

The "remove ads" in-app purchase permanently disables them. Payment is handled by Apple or Google: no payment details ever reach TawaSoftware, which has no access to them.

6. What Insectix does not do

The game contains no analytics, no automatic crash reporting and no social network. It accesses neither your location, nor your contacts, nor your photos, nor the microphone, nor the camera.

7. Retention and erasure

Scores published to the leaderboard are kept until you ask for their removal.

You can erase everything from within the game, at any time: the Ranking screen, then Delete my scores. This removes all your runs and your three letters from the server, and releases your number. It is immediate and irreversible.

Data left on your device disappears when the game is uninstalled. ⚠️ On iOS, the system keychain may retain your three letters and installation identifier beyond an uninstall, so that reinstalling restores your place on the leaderboard; use Delete my scores if you would rather it did not.

You may also write to contact@tawasoftware.com to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection.

8. Children

Insectix is not directed at children and is not designed for an audience under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the game or to regulations. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.
